Yes, we can. If the artex is in good condition and firmly attached, we can apply a bonding coat and then skim over it to create a smooth, modern finish. If the artex is very heavy or loose, we may recommend over-boarding with new plasterboard before skimming for the best result.

This depends on the time of year and the ventilation in the room. Generally, you should wait about 3 to 5 days for a skim coat to turn a consistent light pink colour. For thicker plastering or dry-lining, it may take a bit longer. We always recommend using a "mist coat" (thinned-down paint) for your first layer once it is dry.

It isn't always necessary, but it often results in a neater finish if you do. If you are planning on replacing your skirting anyway, it is best to take them off first. If you want to keep them, we can plaster down to the top of the existing boards with a tidy, professional edge.
